A great collaborative project working with Rani Ahluwalia and the team at Dominvs for her hotel Lost Property, St Pauls, central London. We created an exciting and tactile installation for the main reception wall. Each of the five art panels is a separate design, linked together through a shared theme, across local landmarks. The Westminster Abbey panel, with it’s hidden doorway and room beyond; the British Museum with it’s lost and found artefacts; the Churchill War Room panels celebrate a British statesman who is still quoted today; the infamous Bank Station, where so many passengers have lost and found their way!
We brought Rani’s ideas to life by sketching, designing and producing the panels in bas relief. Many of the individual 3D elements were sculpted in clay, moulds were made and the casts created in Jesmonite resin. Other elements were carved and inscribed from a variety of materials, all collaged together and finished to create this bespoke piece. Expertly installed by our team of fitters!
